Daily Top 5 >>> 4/6/10

  • "Balls"

If you ever played baseball, especially if you've pitched, a line drive right back up the middle is one of the scariest things in the world. Peep Vanderbilt freshman Corey Williams take a ball off the knee. Really scary stuff. What's most incredible about this, though, is that he still made the play. As good as Mark Buehrle's play was yesterday, this kid's is better. Look at his kneecap!! He still threw the guy out after his kneecap got the fortune cookie treatment! Props TBL.
  • "Lolla" The official 2010 lineup came out today. I'm excited about the Erykah Badu and Raphael Saddiq sets, but rap is so under-represented it's ridiculous. How the hell do you only have 3 rap acts at the largest music festival in the country? Out of a total of 120+ acts at that. I can't tell whether or not something is wrong with the Lolla planners, or whether something is terribly wrong with rap. Probably a little of both. All I do know is that I won't be dropping $200 for 5-6 acts this year.
  • "Futura"

Nice little video by The Creative Lives over on High Snobiety.
  • "Big Brother" I've been complaining about all the police cameras, red light cameras, and other cameras the city probably isn't telling us about for a few years now. The Tribune is reporting that Chicago is the most tightly watched city in the country, and I'm not surprised. You can take any intersection in the city and, if there isn't a police camera, there's a red light camera. Usually there's both, just for good measure. I'd bitch some more, but when you live in a place where 41 people get shot in 2 days you don't really have much of an argument.
  • "Jershon Cobb" Josh and Cody told me about this kid today at lunch. Still have no idea how we got him to commit, but I'm not going to ask questions. Next year is looking like a good one.
